LOUIS BAUMAN,

recalled by the People, was examined by Mr. Walker and testified as follows:

Q What line were you in on the night of May 4th?

A In the first company, Lieut. Steele's.

Q Front line?

A Yes sir.

Q What number or in what set of fours?

A I was the seventh man.

Q From the est in the front row?

A Yes.

Q before the bomb went off did you have anything shining in your hand?, either pistol, club or anything else?

Objected to; objection overruled; exception by defendants.

A No sir.

Q Who stood at your left?

A His name is Thiel.
