ALONSON H. REED,

being further examined on the part of the State by Mr. Ingham deposed and stated as follows:

Q Mr. Reed, did I ask you if you had sympathy for any class whose object it was to overthrow the law of the land with violence?

A Yes, sir.

Q What was the answer?

A. Certainly not.

Q You certainly had not.

A (No answer.)
