February, 17th, Editorial on Second page, which reads as follows:

"In France, during strikes and lockouts a new method is adopted lately, which as a rule is accompanied by very good results. The workingmen stay in the factory, provision themselves as well as they can and defend themselves against possible attacks. The manufacturers before all want to preserve their property, which in this manner is completely in the hands of the working men. Should they desire to bombard the working men with cannons they are forced to demolish the factory without injuring the working men who can retreat in time after they have set fire to the buildings. It is self-evident that the latter is only resorted to in case of extreme necessity. In most cases the extortionists do not let things go that far. That the conflict between capitalism and working men is taking constantly a sharper form is to be hailed inasmuch as thereby the decision will be Hundreds and thousands of reasons indicate that force will be bring about the decisive results in the battle for liberty, and the more conscious the masses are in that conflict of their irresistible power, the nearer will be the approaching springtide of the people.
